The identity of POP CULTURE - Assignment 1-2

Pop culture is a constant influence on our everyday lives. It brings us together in a way that reflects our specific tastes for movies, music, art, internet and many other aspects of social genre. Pop culture allows me to experience many realms in which I may have never been accustomed to.

Understanding the importance of Pop Culture will help me to realize that there are many different individuals of various walks of life. Our views may differ depending on our education, ethnicity, up-bringing and so forth...what I may think is socially acceptable, another person may look at as degrading. Pop Culture in this sense gives us the opinion to like what we want--to each his own...


If I had to choose something to discuss regarding current pop culture I would pick "Rock Band". Its a game that has become a cultural phenomenon all around the world. Multiple people can play together creating their own characters and rocking out on the drums, bass, guitar, and vocals. With thousands of songs from every decade, Rock Band is able to please any crowd. It has become a popular household item for all ages and ethnicities.
